Catching up…again…

Good afternoon. We are getting back into the swing of things after a long weekend to celebrate Mexican Independence. The rain kept us from venturing out on Monday night for the “Grito” (rally cry) and we instead we stayed in, played cards and visited with another family. Many of the families and individuals we live among and work with are really being challenged lately. Last Sunday the churches gathered together for a common assembly and it just felt like many of our Mexican brothers and sisters are really struggling: the economic situation and lack of work, temptations with addictions, death of loved ones, depression. The list seems not to have an end. However, the cool thing from my perspective was to witness how the Mexican Christians mistered to and encouraged one another. Some who have been through the ringer were able to speak with authority about God’s love and faithfulness especially during the difficult things we experience in life.
Okay, I have attempted to use this blog address in the past as a way of staying connected and am giving it another shot. If you are reading this, then I was able to get you the link to the blog and you were able to follow it here, so I am glad you are reading.
More coming soon.

Peace
